working principle

Working principle of desktop dissolved oxygen meter TP351

  • The DO continuous determination method is the diaphragm electrode method. The diaphragm is made of polytetrafluoroethylene fiber, polyethylene, etc., platinum is used as the positive electrode, aluminum and lead are used as the negative electrode, the two metal electrodes are immersed in the electrolyte solution, and the electrodes and the electrolyte solution are placed in a small chamber with an oxygen semipermeable membrane. The current measurement circuit is connected, and the molecular oxygen in the water diffuses through the diaphragm to the electrode surface, and an electrode reaction occurs. When the electrode parameters are constant and at a certain temperature, the stabilized diffusion current is proportional to the oxygen concentration in the water sample.

  • ●Precautions
    1. The whole measuring system has a long response time, the membrane is broken, the current in the oxygen-free medium increases, etc., and the membrane or electrolyte needs to be replaced. Repolarization and calibration are required after each membrane or electrolyte replacement.
    2. When the temperature of the measured water sample is high, cooling measures should be taken to make it meet the instrument requirements. If measuring in boiler feed water, it should generally be cooled with a water cooler first.
    3. When the water supply is cut off or the dissolved oxygen analyzer is not used for a long time, the electrode should be removed in time and the protective cap should be put on.
